Nike has drawn inspiration from fictional characters on more then one occasion, and the latest pair of dunks keeps Nike “tradition” alive. Inspired by fictional Japanese hero Ultraman the Dunk low features a red toebox, ankle, lace tabs and swoosh while the mudguard, side panels, heel and wingtabs are done up in metallic silver and feature a perforation design, very much like Ultraman’s suit. The second following Koston joining the SB team everyone wondered what his signature shoe would look like. Wonder no more. The Dunk low features a blue suede upper with metallic gold swoosh, red laces and a tan outsole with white midsole.

This Dunk Low dubbed “Asparagus” sports a combination of black leather on the toebox, grass green suede on the sidepanels, brown wingtabs and mudguard, a speckled patten along the heel as well as red accents on the midsole and inner lining.

Nike has been on a Superhero binge as of late, with TONS of recent drop all inspired by Comic-book greats like Batman, Spiderman, and Venom, to name a few. The latest Hero or Heroes (for anyone into comics) to get his own kick is Green Lantern. With a movie in the works slated for a 2011 release it should be no surprise that Nike would capitalize on the hype. the Dunk Low sports a Green patent leather toe-box, wing tabs and heel with black nubuck seen on the remainder of the shoe. A white swoosh and outsole make these kicks a must for any comic book junkie or sneakerhead alike, sadly if you don’t wear a size 6 or smaller these aren’t for you.

Back in 2008 we got to see Iron Man jump from comic books to silver screen in what most people consider the best Marvel movie to date. Nike as always keeps the kicks comming and had intented to drop these along side the movie, that never happened. The Sb Dunk low sports a red/black colorway along the upper with goodl swoosh accents. Sadly these are only samples and more then likly they will stay that way.
